Current management involves highly individualised therapies based on underlying concomitant disease processes and symptoms. Moreover, there are numerous therapeutic permutations involving anticoagulation, rate-limitation and antiarrhythmic strategies. This review serves to update the clinician with a practical approach to each patient population and on current advances in management.
